| Jimmy came over
and helped me out a bit! Already had the engine
mounted, tank and plumbing finished, and
the landing gear bolted on. |
Jim installed the 3W ignition switch
and only later did I realize I had him
install it on the wrong side of the
plane.
 |
Jim mounted up the
Fromeco 2400 ignition pack. No need
to regulate it to the newer 3W
ignitions. |
|
|
|
 |
 |
 |
Jim also worked on the choke servo setup
and installation. That was about all we
got done that afternoon other than alot
of eating!
 |
Rod was getting tired of waiting to see
this thing fly and asked if he could
take it home and get it close. I had no
problem with that.
 |
Rod installed the
Fromeco 4800 RX pack and the
Smart-Fly Power Expander and
regulator. After flying it, I will move
these parts back into the turtledeck
area for better 3D flying.

 |
| Rod mounted the Hitec 6985s on the
ailerons using
DUBRO ballinks and DUBRO
#366 Control Horns. |
Rod did a slick job of setting up the
throttle servo. He mounted a Hitec 6985
on the side of the motor box. Then
extended the carb arm by bolting on a
long piece of strong plastic |
Rod did all the servo mounting,
extensions, pushrods, ball joints ,
control horns, and servo arm
installation. |
|
|
|
 |
 |
 |
| Oh, Rod also bolted and soldered on the
flying wires, and mounted the cowl and
wheelpants. |
Then I snaked it back and started
putting on graphics.
 |
I
moved the balljoints to the bottom of
the servo arms... kept the pushrods more
level throughout the range that way.
 |
|
|
|
 |
 |
 |
I moved the ignition switch over to the
left side of the plane. Now all the
ignition stuff is on one side and the RX
stuff is on the other. Pretty much RTF,
now.
 |
Oh, while Jimmy was here that one
afternoon he also mounted the 3W
tail-wheel bracket and the all-thread
and ball-link in the bottom of the
rudder for it. |
And, Jimmy did half of the hinging that
day, too. Rod did the other half.
